Getting Involved
About Us
Our History – The Mark A Trowbridge Chamber Foundation is a not-for- profit corporation based in Coral Gables, Florida, and was founded in 2005. In 2025, following the untimely passing of then Chamber President & CEO, the Foundation was renamed in his honor to the Mark A. Trowbridge Chamber Foundation.
Our Mission – To support community-based economic initiatives that serve local businesses in an effort to sustain and grow the economy.
Our Vision – We aim to enhance our community’s quality of life though our support of local initiatives, non-profits, and our Coral Gables Welcome Center.
Our Leadership – The Mark A. Trowbridge Chamber Foundation is driven by a Board of nine volunteer directors whose responsibility is to govern and serve the Foundation.
Where We’ve Been…
- In 2005, our Chamber of Commerce envisioned and created a 501(c)3 to support community-wide initiatives that most impacted the local business community beyond the mission and scope of our organization.
- And, given that many foundation and grant funds are only eligible for 501(c)3 designated non-profits, it made further sense to create our own foundation as a synergistic entity that complemented the program of work of our Chamber.
- As a 501(c)3, our Chamber Foundation has been able to fund initiatives, as well as qualify for grants that sustain our mission. It has also been able to fill the gap left by other community-based foundations that may not be as focused on the local economy.
- To that end, we have endeavored to leverage our brand (both as a Chamber and its sister Foundation), our reach and our impact.
- In the future, we hope to further partner with other community-focused funding sources to further leverage our investment, partnerships and programming.
